Hi, my name’s Jenny. I’ve been travelling the world with my husband Lewis since 2012.
We laugh about it now, but our first travel incarnation was as backpackers. Backpackers! Carrying a coffee grinder and hair straighteners! We must have lasted about three months before we realised that we were too old for that shit. Seriously. We’re in our thirties. In both dog and backpacker years, we’re practically dead.
We travel at a much slower pace now, settling for 3-6 months at a time and really making a home in the countries we visit. I call them our ‘mini lives’.
We’ve been everything from bootstrappers in Chiang Mai, to cat-owners in Melbourne, to part of the expat set in Hanoi. The closest we’ve been to giving it all up and settling down for good was in New Zealand. But what if it’s not THE ONE? What if there’s somewhere we’d love even more, but we just haven’t discovered it yet?
I don’t know how long we’ll do this for or what our next travel incarnation will be, but it’s the perfect compromise for now; we get to indulge our love for travel while also satisfying our needs for a home, a kitchen, a familiar bed, and enough sockets for my (absolutely vital) hair appliances.
So that’s us. I’m a writer who likes gin, Cadbury’s and cocktails with rude names. Lewis is a programmer who likes coffee, red wine, and Flintstones-esque volumes of meat.
I hope you find something here to inspire and entertain you. If you do, I’d love to hear from you.
